Agricultural internship in Denmark offers work at the pig farm, dairy farms, poultry farm and greenhouses

  • Duration of internship up to 18 months
  • Working hours are 37 hours per week

Accommodation

The employer provides a private room in the house with all apartment’s amenities and internet for the fee – 250-350 euros per month.

*The accommodation is located on the farm or nearby sometimes with the provision of transport (car, scooter or bicycle.)

Requirements for candidates:

  • Age 18-29.5 years
  • Be enrolled in agricultural education with relevant to the internship place specialty
  • Have basic English or German (having a KET-A2, IELTS  3.0 or Goethe A2 certificate is mandatory)

Trainee allowance

For students up to 25 years old:

  • from 1 to 6 months – 1,600 euros per month
    (1,350 euros after taxes)
  • from 7 to 18 months – 1,900 euros per month
    (1,500 euros after taxes)

For students over 25 years old:

  • from 1 to 6 months — 1,600 euros per month
    (1,350 euros after taxes)
  • from 7 to 18 months — 2,200 euros per month
    (1,650 euros after taxes)

Agricultural internship in Denmark at green houses

  • planting and watering seedlings
  • tying up bushes
  • arrangement of plants on the tables
  • harvesting vegetables and fruits
  • packing of flowers, vegetables and fruits
  • work with special equipment

Duties of an intern at a pig farm include

  • work in the farrowing department: automatic feeding of sows, general inspection, fertilization of sows, care of piglets up to 6 kg (castration and their vaccination)
  • work in the rearing department: automatic feeding, general inspection, vaccination, cleaning premises
  • work in the fattening department: automatic feeding, general inspection, vaccination, cleaning of premises

Duties of an intern on dairy farms include

  • automatic cattle feeding
  • milking (2-3 times a day)
  • care of calves
  • sometimes work on fields

Duties of an intern at poultry farms include

  • Feeding of chickens

  • cleaning cages and premises

  • sorting and packing of eggs
